How Plastic Fisher is stopping the flood of plastic at source

How do you stop plastic before it even ends up in the ocean? Plastic Fischer shows how – with locally produced TrashBooms, fair jobs and a business model that doesn’t give greenwashing a chance. The social enterprise has already fished over 2 million kilos of plastic out of rivers. Now the team wants to grow – with partners from the Impact Hub network.

Whether it’s circular product design, innovative recycling solutions or a business model that focuses on conserving resources – the Circularity Champion Award 2025 recognizes organizations that have a real impact on the circular economy.

The award will be presented jointly with the Cradle to Cradle NGO at the Responsible Leadership Conference on October 23 at the F.A.Z. Tower in Frankfurt.

Free tickets for the Health Insurance Hack+Con 2025

From September 3-5, the Health Insurance Hack+Con will take place at the Design Offices Leipzig – a hackathon with an accompanying conference on digital innovations in healthcare. Topics include AI in healthcare, the gender health gap, digital patient records and mental health.

Free places are available for our community with the code leipzig100 – either for the hackathon or the conference.

AI driver’s license – training for the safe use of AI

With the new EU regulation on artificial intelligence, clear rules apply to the use of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot or Canva in day-to-day business. The AI driving license offers a three-hour online training course that covers the legal framework, opportunities and risks as well as practical applications of AI.

Participants receive a certificate confirming trained and legally compliant use.

In 2025, SINN will once again be recognizing innovative projects, companies and initiatives in Saxony that achieve social impact.if you would like to apply, please note the following:

1️⃣ Project, company, initiative is not older than five years

2️⃣ you are already active in Saxony and have a positive social impact

3️⃣ Social ideas at the idea stage are not eligible to apply

Social innovations that are already making a positive impact on society in Saxony can still apply for the SINN Innovation Award until August 15. There is a jury prize and an audience prize, each endowed with €3,000.
